My Story and Mission
My name is Katie and I've lived in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, for almost 10 years. Before coming here, my family and I moved around a lot so it's been a huge source of pleasure for me putting down roots in such a wonderful community. During my time here I've suported vulnerable locals through lockdown, taken part in various community initiatives and I'm currently involved with the local Repair cafe and the Senior Citizens Welfare club.
My career background was in office work and teaching but caring for my own elderly relatives showed me just how meaningful practical support and friendly companionship can be. It not only helps seniors stay independent but also brightens their days with social connection. This inspired me to create Kings Companion - so I could bring cheerful, practical support and genuine companionship to people in my own community.
I have an enhanced DBS, Insurance cover, a bubbly, positive personality and a practical nature.
My father is fiercely independent but knowing that Katie pops into see him at least once a week, to have a chat and a cup of tea, to offer help with any more tricky tasks about the house or with admin issues, is a great comfort to me.

Knowing Katie is making weekly visits is a real weight off my mind. They are getting assistance with practical matters, as well as regular companionship. I can then relax knowing that my visits can be less about 'sorting things' and more about enjoying their company.
